For beginner weavers or returning weavers who want to tune up their skills winding a warp, warping a 4 shaft loom, reading a simple draft, and dealing with yarn tension issues, this class is for you! Max of 4 participants means lots of personal attention. You can either take your loom home (if it is a portable loom), or come in to the studio any time for a month at the end of the workshop and work on your project. You may rent the loom after the first month. Amy is happy to help you after the workshop if you have questions or encounter problems. If you want to have an idea of what we will be doing and familiarize yourself with some weaving/loom terminology, Amy recommends having a look at Deborah Chandler's book "Learning to Weave''. It’s the best book for beginner weavers. There are several copies to borrow from our studio library if you are a paid member. Day 1 is Saturday, January 21, day 2 is Saturday January 28, both days are 10:30 am until 3:30 pm.
Since it’s an all day class, bring lunch and something to drink.
