Jackie returns to us this year with her inkle loom and a great class that will teach you what you need to know to get started learning how to turn your yarn into beautiful belts. and straps.
Learn basic Inkle weaving techniques to create a band that can be used as a strap, a belt, or trim on clothing. There are many applications for Inkle weaving. We will learn to set up the inkle loom using string heddles. The weaving pattern we will use is an easy to learn plain weave using cotton yarn.
Looms are provided or you can bring your own. Students using the Guild looms are welcome to borrow the loom for a month past the class to finish their projects. Looms can be rented monthly for further adventures, following that.
Students are asked to bring scissors. This is a full day of class. Please bring a lunch and drink.
