Here is excellent project to make for yourself or to get a jump on holiday gift-making.
This class will introduce basic crochet concepts and some truly great tips and tricks for a beginner crocheter or someone who wants to try a few new skills. Fun Stitches we will use:
Beginning Puff Stitch, Regular Puff Stitch, Chaining, Double Crochet, Single Crochet, Slip Stitch, Yarn Over versus Yarn Under technique and Back Post Single Crochet. We will cover learning to read written and charted patterns.
Cost of Materials to be paid to instructor on day of class is $30 and includes
all yarns needed (4 skeins)
2 crochet hooks
large yarn needle
removable stitch marker
written instructions to take home and refer to after class
About your teacher.
Cindy is a retired librarian from Amarillo, TX. She taught traditional sewing and quilting, a bit of quilling, knitting and crochet. Cindy has degrees in art education and photography with a Masters from Georgia Southern. She has taught a variety of art classes at Georgia Southern and has co-authored several books on Savannah. Cindy currently spends most of her time on amigurumi crochet, small quilts, and a summer garden. When asked what is new, she replied: “ I must admit, I've been quite intrigued lately with slow stitching and its theory of mindfulness which was sparked by two Fiber Guild members”.
