Taste of Weaving on a Small Tapestry Loom

Learn more about weaving on a small tapestry loom by creating a bracelet or bookmark! You will learn how to:  warp a simple small peg loom (provided), do single color weaving, then make simple stripes or dots. We will work on selvedge control, how to work ends in, make a buttonhole for bracelet closure, and how to remove from the loom and finish.  This is a fun use of a button that perhaps you have put aside for something special.  You may be able to finish in class, but Wendy will show finishing techniques during class if not.

Wendy will provide supplies for a $2.00 fee however if you wish to bring your own yarn and buttons you may. We will be using 8/8 cotton for weft, so if you are bringing your own, bring a dk or light worsted weight, 10 yards per bracelet or bookmark.  Be sure that your yarn is soft enough to wear on the skin if you are bringing your own. Looms are provided; you may borrow your loom for a month after class is done, and rent for a small fee after that. LOCATION WILL BE EMAILED TO YOU, THIS CLASS WILL BE HELD IN A MEMBER’S HOMe

Wendy is a lifelong knitter and enjoys spinning, a bit of crochet, and different types of weaving.  She blogs about fiber at spinsjal.blogspot.com.
