Introduction to Weaving on a Floor Loom with Amy Hanson
Saturday, March 8 and Sunday, March 9 from 11:00 to 4:00
Saturday, March 15 from 11:00 to 2:00 follow up
Location: Oatland Wild Life Center, second floor
Introduction this class you will learn to:
wind a warp
sley the reed, thread the heddles, and beam the warp (and if you don't know what any of this means, you will also learn some basic vocabulary)
tie up treadles
read a simple twill draft
do some basic loom troubleshooting
weave a sampler of different designs
We will be using small portable floor looms so you can take them home to play on them in between workshop days, or for a month after the workshop is over (included as part of the workshop fee).
