In this workshop, you will learn how to make a tri-fold journal, embellish, and then sew in the signatures (groups of pages) with the provided waxed linen thread.  (Large upholstery needles can be purchased from Walmart and we will have some available too.)

 Ahead of time you may dye papers with hot instant coffee cooled and placed in a spray bottle.  Papers great for dyeing are: tracing paper, copy paper and sturdy book pages.  Both sides would need to be sprayed. You may also wish to try dyeing heavier weight papers at our dye day the week prior. You may also use fabric on pages, including using our sewing machine to sew them in!

 Mo will provide manila folders, Fabri-tac glue and waxed linen thread.  Also bits and bobs of ephemera to share.

 Signatures may be mixed papers or just sketch paper or paper of your choice.

 Participants need to bring: scissors, ruler, small pieces of fabric, ribbons, old lace, and papers. We will have a “share” pile for papers and fabric if you wish to share any of your materials. If you have please bring: papercutter, pinking shears, bookbinding or doll needle, a deckle edge ruler.

There will be a small materials fee to go to Mo so please bring cash or a check or have access to Venmo.
